A short-tempered tempered glassglass vendor reportedly stabbed and killed his friend following a misunderstanding over a razor blade — a key tool in their trade.

Decent Maphosa (18) will live to regret the day he failed to control his temper following a misunderstanding over a razor blade that his friend had asked for as he rushed to serve a client.

However, it turns out Maphosa was not happy with the now deceased Menshevick Goromombo Moyo’s approach resulting in a heated argument.

During the heat of the argument, Maphosa took out a knife and stabbed Moyo once on the back resulting in his death.

Maphosa was arrested and is facing a murder charge.

He appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Shepherd Mjanja and was remanded in custody to 18 September.

The court heard that on 20 August, the two Zvishavane men who are in the business of selling tempered glass for cellphones had a misunderstanding.

It is reported that the now deceased wanted to serve a customer and therefore demanded a razor blade from Maphosa.

An argument then ensued between the two over the rightful owner of the razor blade and Moyo’s approach.

Unfortunately, the argument turned nasty when Maphosa drew a knife and stabbed Moyo on the back. He fell and died instantly in full view of passersby.

Police attended the scene and Maphosa was arrested.

He was not asked to plead and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
